Fees and Insurance

When setting a fee, I do take into consideration the ability to pay and the amount of financial coverage available to the client through her/his insurance policy. I believe that the relationship that is formed between a client and a therapist needs to exist in a comfortable environment and payment of the fee is an important part of it. Therefore, when I start treatment with a new client I try to agree on a fee that is relatively comfortable for the client to pay as well as within a reasonable range of what I believe to be a fair reimbursement for my time and expertise.
